The Direct Aligner's (shape memory effect) ability to restore shape makes it possible to apply continuous orthodontic force to the patient's teeth without permanent deformation as an orthodontic device.
Therefore, unlike the thermoforming manufacturing method (conventional clear aligners), Direct Aligner is much convenient to wear and remove, and causes no risk of pain or injury. Unlike the conventional clear aligner treatment, the Shape Memory Effect is exhibited even after time passes, so even when the patient repeatedly attaches and detaches the device, the original shape (initial production state) is remembered and returned. So the loss of corrective power due to permanent deformation is reduced and it results in more effective calibration in a relatively short time.
